Reduce Vertices

Keep dense meshes responsive during live puppeting.

Why use it

A high-poly character can make live tracking and viewport playback sluggish, especially on modest hardware. Reduce Vertices trims mesh density for performance without you having to manually decimate and re-map the whole rig.

Steps in Blender

  1. 1Open the Advanced panel (collapsed by default) in the Face Addon sidebar tab.
  2. 2Click Reduce Vertices on your character mesh.
  3. 3Re-check live performance — puppeting should feel more responsive on dense meshes.
  4. 4Combine with Decimate Target (in shape-key mapping) if you also need a lighter export.
